I am signed up to the free service. I have used up 38 of the 50 free units through the tutorial. I have now begun to input seed sites to conduct a my own crawl however my account is in deficit. How do I add credit to the account without subscribing monthly as I only want to analyse this new crawl as part of my research.

If you sign up for a Professional or Premium account, then you will pay the first month subscription fee. The subscription is automatically renewed monthly, and you will receive an email a couple of days before the renewal alerting you that it is about to renew.
You can cancel your subscription at any time: you do this by going to http://uberlink.com/voson-pricing while you are logged in, and then you will see a link to "Edit or change your subscription" under the tier/plan which you are subscribed to. Following this link will allow you to cancel your subscription.
After cancelling your subscription, you will remain on the same tier for the remainder of the month e.g. if you have subscribed to Professional and decide to cancel after two weeks, then you will have the remaining two weeks on Professional before you go back to the Free Tier.
Please also note: Cancelling your subscription doesn't mean you lose your data - your datasets will still be available with the Free Tier, but there will be limits on what you can do with the data (e.g. regarding network visualisation).
I should also mention that while on Professional/Premium Tiers you can purchase "VAU Packs" which allow you to increase the amount of crawling you can do
Finally, in October 2015 we launched the VOSON Hyperlink Network Analytics Service. This service is aimed at customers who are already using the VOSON software for hyperlink network construction, but want to conduct large-scale web crawls, for example 1000 or 2000 seed sites, which is larger than what is possible (or economically feasible) with the standard VOSON subscriptions. This is effectively a “managed crawl” service: we conduct the crawl on your behalf, and when it is completed we make the network datasets available to you via your VOSON software account.
