Uberlink participates in CSIRO On Accelerate bootcamp session
Uberlink has been shortlisted among other 19 teams around Australia to participate in ON Bootcamp session, held in Sydney last week.
Established by CSIRO in 2015, On Accelerate is a full time Sci-Tech accelerator program which provides mentoring assistance to researchers from the fields of science and technology working on projects that have the potential to shape Australia’s future.
Dr. Robert Ackland, Associate Professor School of Sociology and Centre for Social Research & Methods at the Australian National University, and CEO of Uberlink stated: “we were very excited to be shortlisted as we knew this is a highly competitive program, involving high quality science and tech research projects from different fields from all around Australia.”
Uberlink was part of the data science stream, with other projects from researchers focused on health, agriculture, clean energy and social development. The program was open to research teams from the CSIRO and Australian universities.
The application was sponsored by the Australian National University, and Uberlink was shortlisted among over 40 applications. The ON Bootcamp session took place on November 29 and 30, 2017 at the Qantas Centre of Service Excellence and it was facilitated by Ian Brown and David Ireland. Dr Rob Ackland (CEO) and Francisca Borquez (Communications and Business development) represented Uberlink at the event.
“ We were very happy to participate in the ON bootcamp session. It was challenging and it helped us to reformulate how we are thinking and doing business. We were also able to connect with other research teams working on relevant innovations, as well us with diverse mentors and investors. The feedback provided was valuable and now, we are working to take Uberlink to the next level” the CEO said.
